FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Funding to Provide Housing and Healthcare for Unhoused Families in Orange County
SANTA ANA, Calif., December 11, 2023 – Shah Happiness Foundation donates to Illumination Foundation, a nonprofit organization with the mission to disrupt the cycle of homelessness, to establish two new family emergency shelters in Orange County. This funding will support the acquisition of residences and the provision of essential services for families experiencing homelessness.
Orange County currently faces an urgent need, with more than 300 families on a waiting list for shelter. In response to this pressing need, the new family emergency shelters will be named the Shah Happiness Home. Each shelter will provide a home for up to eight families, including up to 20 children, at a time and aim to serve approximately 30-40 families each year.
“We are extremely grateful to Shah Happiness Foundation for their generous gift and commitment to disrupting the cycle of homelessness,” said Dr. Pooja Bhalla, CEO of Illumination Foundation. “This gift will allow us to expand our integrated housing and healthcare services and reduce family homelessness in Orange County. During their stay here, the families will work towards attaining permanent housing and gaining employment.”
Shah Happiness Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the health, education, and overall well-being of the communities where they live and work in. They partner with organizations such as Illumination Foundation to make fundamental shifts in the quality of life of individuals.
“Shah Happiness Foundation is honored to support Illumination Foundation’s mission, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in making a positive impact on the lives of families experiencing homelessness,” said Mr. Manu Shah, Chief Giving Officer of Shah Happiness Foundation. “We appreciate Illumination Foundation's approach of providing supportive services in a home-like environment, and we envision the Shah Happiness Home as a place where families can thrive on their journey to securing permanent housing."
