The mission of Illumination Foundation is to disrupt the cycle of homelessness.

Family Emergency Shelters

We provide a wide array of services that support the healthy development of families and children who are unstably housed or homeless.

Our four family emergency shelters provide a safe place for these individuals.

The families in these shelters have experienced significant trauma in their lives and have come to us in distress after having exhausted their other options. During their stay, they receive intensive case management services to get back on their feet, connect to important resources, and ultimately, find permanent housing. Illumination Foundation specializes in trauma-informed services including Parent and Me classes, children’s developmental screenings, mental health services, virtual literacy classes, and housing navigation.

Illumination Foundation currently oversees four different Family Emergency Shelters:

  • Theriault House

  • The Bob Murphy House

  • The Gilbert House

  • The Plumeria House
